For three weeks, a mother in Flint, Michigan, had been trying to get an abortion. Every time, something got in the way.
Early on the morning of July 29, she stopped trying to get in. She walked over to the sidewalk outside the Planned Parenthood abortion mill and started talking with the people standing there.
Her name is Bianca.
A conversation that turned
Missionary Andrew Belanger was on the sidewalk that morning, and two brothers in Christ had come to stand with him. It was a day the mill was doing abortions, and the three of them were there to preach the Gospel and plead for the lives of the babies scheduled to die inside.
Bianca told them about her situation and about those three weeks. She had tried again and again, and things kept getting in the way. As the team put it afterward, God kept turning her away.
We shared most of that conversation on video. It is the kind of conversation that usually feels heavy and hopeless from the first word. This one turned. By the end of the video, Bianca is looking at the ultrasound of her baby.

Two babies saved
Bianca’s baby was not the only one. That evening Andrew posted his end-of-day report. The brothers had stood with him all day. “Preached and pleaded,” he wrote. “God saved two babies today!!!”
Andrew had four conversations that day, handed out a blessing bag, and gave away a few Gospel tracts. It was ordinary, faithful sidewalk work, and God used it to save two of our pre-born neighbors. Bianca’s is the story we can tell you. The other mother’s baby is just as alive.
Praise. God.
Who did the saving
Nobody on that sidewalk arranged those three weeks. God did. He kept closing the door in front of Bianca, and then He made sure His people were standing on the sidewalk when she finally walked over.
The baby Bianca saw on that ultrasound was already known to Him. “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13, ESV)
Andrew and those two brothers were there because God’s people pray for this work and give to it.
